Lingual braces such as the Incognito brace system are the ideal option for adults who would like to have their teeth accurately straightened but without the appearance of traditional braces. These braces are placed behind your teeth so, no one will know you are wearing them unless you tell them.
The Incognito brace system is placed behind your teeth, and is therefore virtually invisible to other people.
Treatment time varies for each individual patient and the amount of work required to align the teeth. It usually takes between 12 to 24 months although many patients will start to see results after just a few weeks. Due to the advanced technology in the customised brackets, precise bracket placement and precision bent wires, your teeth will move in the most efficient manner possible.
You will still be required to visit the practice every 6 to 8 weeks for your orthodontist to check your progress and maintain your brace. New wires will be fitted to the brackets to gently move your teeth into position.
Once the smile you envisaged has been achieved your orthodontist will remove the brackets from the back of your teeth. This requires some force to break the bonds but it should not be painful. The backs of the teeth are cleaned and polished of any leftover glue.
